As a cyclist and a Levi’s® guy, I’m pretty excited about our new Commuter line – clothing designed for the needs of the urban commuter cyclist.
We’re launching it this week with the 511™ Commuter Skinny Jean and the Commuter Trucker Jacket. And trust me, this is great stuff.
The jeans and jacket were born from innovation and classic American style, just what you’d expect from the Levi’s® brand. And they were designed for people who ride bikes by people who ride bikes.
In fact, it was a natural for us.

In just two days, the company that invented blue jeans brings its new brand to the U.S. We think that’s pretty cool.
In case you haven’t heard, the new brand is Denizen™, launched a year ago in Asia and now arriving in the Americas – in both the U.S. and Mexico.
In the States, the brand will be available Sunday, July 10, exclusively at Target. Each member of family can find great-fitting, great-looking Denizen™ jeans. The selection of fits and finishes are authentic and varied -- a perfect fit for today's lifestyles.

One of the best parts of leading the global Levi’s® brand is immersing myself in the spirit of young people around the world. Youthful optimism and energy are at the core of this brand’s DNA.

Recognize the animals above? They’ve been part of the Levi’s® brand since 1886. But what you see here is something new – the freshest version of what we call the Two Horse® patch.
When you’re a company that prides itself on both heritage and innovation, you want to tell that story as vividly and compellingly as possible. And for us, the Two Horse® logo does just that.

There are 1.3 million people in the United States alone living with HIV. 20% of them don’t know they have the virus. That’s one in five people who have HIV, but don’t even know it. Even now, 30 years after the epidemic began.
As a result, they’re not receiving life-saving treatment. And, they may be unknowingly contributing to the spread of HIV.

If you pass by the Levi’s® store in New York’s Meatpacking District (pictured above) or Soho neighborhood, you might see something that catches your eye. I’m not talking about our amazing Water<Less™ or Curve ID jeans, but window displays that support a fight for equality. In this case, marriage equality.
Now that the State of New York has made same-sex marriage legal, the windows take on new significance, particularly at this time of the year. June is when people across the U.S. and around the world celebrate gay rights.

Just last year, at the age of 22, Katie Spotz rowed across the Atlantic Ocean. It’s time for an encore, also involving water.
Right now, Katie and her friend, Sam Williams, are in the midst of a cross-country bicycle trip. They started their 3,000-mile, non-stop race this past Saturday in Oceanside, Calif. It’s a race, because the goal is to finish, in Annapolis, Maryland, in seven days and 21 hours.

My first thought when I heard about the wildfire now burning in Eastern Arizona was how much I wanted to help fight the blaze. Fighting a huge wildfire like the Wallow fire used to be my “day job.” Now, I work in the legal department at Levi Strauss & Co., but I still feel a strong connection to those firefighters on the front lines.
That connection is why I was heartened to hear that my company is donating 200 pairs of Levi’s® jeans and Dockers® pants to firefighters as part of a larger product donation to wildfire victims.

I’m a lucky guy.
When I joined the Levi’s® brand back in 1979, I had no idea of the adventure ahead. I started as a product manager in my native Australia, and I write now as the president and CEO of Levi Strauss & Co.
It’s been quite a ride, one on which I look back with tremendous pride.

I cried at work last week, and I’m not ashamed to admit it.
A bit of background. One of my responsibilities here at Levi’s® is to help put together the annual sales conference for our retail managers from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
The conference is a big deal, and it requires months of planning. The ultimate goal is to send our managers off feeling energized, so they can then motivate their teams and better connect with our consumers.

You know our product – particularly Levi’s® and Dockers® – but we’re betting there’s a lot about Levi Strauss & Co. you don’t know.
