In the Wake of World Water Day

Washing your jeans every two weeks instead of weekly will save 14 liters of water. That’s 59 eight-ounce glasses of water. And washing in cold water and line-drying your jeans will reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

In the wake of World Water Day, and as we look ahead to Earth Day on April 22, we thought it was worth repeating this information.

We also wanted to call your attention to a chat in which LS&Co. Sustainability Vice President Michael Kobori participated on Friday. Hosted by Triple Pundit Founder and Publisher Nick Aster, the topic, as you might guess, was water—and what Levi Strauss & Co. is doing to reduce the amount we’re using to manufacture our products.

We think it’s an enlightening 30 minutes in which you’ll learn more about Levi’s® Water<Less™ collection, our participation in Better Cotton and how LS&Co. is using recycled water to make blue jeans.
