Inside Philanthropy: The Story Behind the Asset Building Movement

Levi Strauss & Co.
February 24, 2015

Recently, Inside Philanthropy published a story highlighting former Levi Strauss & Co. board member Bob Friedman’s contributions to the asset building movement.

As the story notes, asset-building policies and programs have long been a priority for LS&Co., and we were among the first corporations to support the field. The Levi Strauss Foundation was an early contributor to Friedman’s work and today continues to contribute to asset-building programs that benefit low-income people.

“Drawing inspiration from Levi Strauss & Co.’s longstanding support of workers in our industry, the Levi Strauss Foundation supports innovative programs and policy change to promote savings among low-income working people in the United States,” said Daniel Lee, Executive Director of the Levi Strauss Foundation.
