In 2010, the Levi Strauss Foundation launched the Pioneers in Justice initiative which is working to redefining the relationship between the funder and grantee by helping next-generation leaders from five of the Bay Area’s leading social justice non-profits scale their impact by investing in capacity building and supporting new ways of working. To share the initiative more broadly, we recently published a case study, Pioneers in Justice: Building Networks and Movements for Social Change, written by social impact expert and author Heather McLeod Grant. The case has helped to generate even more interest on the initiative, including from the Case Foundation – who is highlighting the Pioneers in Justice Program through their new Be Fearless campaign which highlight and share with practitioners bold and cutting edge approaches for creating positive change in the world.
