Levi Strauss & Co. has proudly built a culture of inclusivity for all, anchored by the guiding values instilled since our inception – integrity, empathy, courage and originality.
We are excited to be recognized as one of America’s Best Employers for Women by Forbes, ranking 37 out of 300 companies – a testament to the stances and steps we’ve taken for the betterment of our employees. LS&Co. is one of just three apparel companies in the top 50 (H&M and Tilly’s Surf & Skate Clothing Company is also listed).
Forbes partnered with market research company Statista for its first-ever rankings. To determine the list, Statista surveyed 40,000 Americans, including 25,000 women, working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions.
Companies were recognized for their efforts on everything from pay equity to family leave, an issue particularly important to us. In 2017, we expanded our paid parental leave policy for all hourly and salaried U.S. employees with benefits, regardless of gender, to receive up to eight weeks of paid parental leave. The paid parental leave benefit is in addition to existing short-term disability benefits for birth mothers.
“LS&Co. has a long history of focusing on making our workplaces feel welcoming and inclusive to all, and we’re pleased to see those efforts recognized,” said Elizabeth Wood, Chief Human Resources Officer at LS&Co. “It’s great to hear that our employees see value in all the ways we are supporting women in the workplace, from paid parental leave to leadership training. We know that having diverse voices in our company only makes us stronger, and we will continue to invest in a culture that promotes that.”
