This month, Levi Strauss & Co. was named to Fortune Magazine’s “Change the World” list for the second year in a row – this time for our Screened Chemistry program and continued efforts to remove chemicals from our processes through breakthrough innovations like Project F.L.X.
Our Screened Chemistry program examines chemicals used to manufacture our products against specific health and environmental impacts, allowing us to identify better alternatives and areas for innovation. Additionally, Project F.L.X. (future-led execution) replaces manual techniques and automates the jeans finishing process, allowing the company to reduce the number of chemical formulations used in finishing from thousands to a few dozen.
