Exciting. Surprising. Sweaty.
These are a few of the words our interns have used to describe their summer at Levi Strauss & Co. For the last two months, 42 undergrads and grads in San Francisco and Eugene, Oregon have been living, learning and apparently sweating in their Levi’s®. Hailing from top schools such as UC Berkeley, Columbia and the Fashion Institute of Technology, these students make up our largest and most diverse intern class to date – almost double the size of last year’s.
From merchandising to data science, these interns have been supporting the day-to-day needs of their individual teams. And when they’re not creating interactive Excel tools or organizing Employee Resource Group fairs, they’re collaborating on group projects designed to tackle broader business initiatives which are then pitched to the Global Leadership Team. This year, the projects addressed innovative ways to engage Gen Z consumers as well reduce obstacles to civic participation.
Of course, it’s not all work and no play. Interns also took in a San Francisco Giants game, participated in coffee and pizza socials with our Leadership team, and even spent time giving back to the local community.
So how did the interns like their time at LS&Co.? Hear for yourself:
As the students prepare to head back to school, we hope this internship experience closes what is only the first chapter of their Levi’s® story.
