Righty-O! Levi’s® and Felix the Cat™, the beloved cartoon character that rose to popularity during the silent film era, are teaming up for a new collection with a collegiate twist just in time for fall and winter.
Felix the Graduate features the iconic cartoon cat re-imagined at Felix University. It’s a playful collection that puts a contemporary spin on classic collegiate and varsity style sweaters, rugby shirts, hoodies, jackets, pants, and tops. Each item in the collection showcases classic Felix archival graphics — it’s college prep meets ‘90s streetwear in a range of modern shapes and silhouettes.
“We wanted to do a collaboration with Felix that felt unexpected for everyone,” said Karyn Hillman, chief product officer. “And so, we came up with this concept of Felix the Graduate, and what Felix would be wearing as a student. The preppy, varsity look is so relevant for today, and we like that it felt crisp and smart but still really relaxed and easy.”
Nearly a century after Felix the Cat first graced television screens, the cat remains one of the most recognizable and beloved animated cartoon characters of all time. It only made sense for these two iconic brands to come together and bring Felix to a new generation of fans.
“There’s definitely a sense of humor about the collection, which of course is perfect for Felix,” Karyn said. “We had so much fun putting our spin on the collegiate elements and making them feel fresh and modern, and then combining them with iconic imagery from the Felix archives.”
