The Gundam franchise took the world by storm when it was first introduced as a TV series in 1979, quickly expanding to include novels, video games, films, manga, original video animation and more. Set in a fictional reality where Earth is embroiled in conflicts between space colonies and the Earth Federation, the futuristic Gundam universe explores novel technologies and the human condition.
Gundam’s complex characters and compelling narratives have captivated new generations of audiences and O.G. fans alike for decades. Now, 45 years since its inception, Gundam is continuing their momentum and partnering with the Levi’s® brand to introduce a 12-piece collection of tops, bottoms and accessories.
The collection features futuristic design elements like prismatic print techniques, utility functionality and silver piping details. Denim offerings include the Levi’s® x Gundam SEED ’93 501® jeans and a matching Relaxed Trucker, both made from indigo denim with a light stonewash finish and featuring patterned prints of the Strike Gundam, a blue jacron backpatch and a cobranded patch. The Technical Anorak is boxy and slightly cropped, with silver piping, oversized utility chest pockets, straps to tie back and a large GAT-X105 Strike Gundam graphic on the back. There is also a Cargo Pant, with matching piping as well as co-branded Gundam patches on the cargo and back pockets.
The collection also includes bold tops like the Boxy Tee, offered in both Starbright White and Destruction Black, with Gundam graphics and a woven jacquard cobranded patch. The light gray Rugby comes with a cotton twill black collar, an oversized Strike Gundam print and a jacquard jock tag. The dark blue Long Sleeve Tee features an eye-popping ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam print on the back, as well as a mix of reflective and non-reflective print on the left chest and right sleeve. There is also a Hoodie with a glossy GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam print on the center chest and a jacquard patch on the left sleeve.
Rounding out the collection are co-branded, functional accessories that include a Harness Bag, an Accent Pouch and a Utility Beanie — all inspired by Gundam’s visions of the future.
The Levi’s® x Gundam SEED collection launches globally on levi.com, the Levi’s® App and in select Levi’s® stores this month. Starting February 1, fans can purchase product in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Fans in North America, South America, the U.K., Europe, India, Turkey, UAE and South Africa can purchase items beginning on February 8.
