Denim meets high-fashion innovation.
The Levi’s® brand and London-based menswear designer Kiko Kostadinov are coming together for the first time to introduce a seven-piece capsule collection, available globally on Thursday. Previewed earlier this year during Kiko’s mainline shows at Paris Fashion Week, the collection infuses Kiko’s contemporary aesthetic with classic Levi’s® pieces. It marks Kiko Kostadinov’s first foray into denim.
The collection’s denim trouser includes archival features from 90s-era Levi’s® Engineered Jeans™, with new knee and elbow darting construction that introduce diamond inserts inspired by traditional Bulgarian motifs. This same design aesthetic is used in the denim jacket, with eyelets applied inside the diamond panels. The hybrid jersey cardigan brings together classic sportwear cardigans and Western shirts, with an asymmetric front opening, side patch pockets and top stitching all around.
The women’s collection puts a Kiko Kostadinov spin on classic Levi’s® products. The materials are washed in umber tones and the brand’s fondness for fuzzy textures and stripes are included in small, paneled details and washed irregular prints on the jersey henley styles.
