This week our head of global product innovation, Paul Dillinger, took the stage at Sustainable Brands, a major sustainability conference, to share the story of sustainable product design at LS&Co. since its founding 161 years ago.
Our sustainable design story starts with the most beloved piece of clothing in many wardrobes today – the riveted blue jean – which was invented in response to growing consumer demand for more durable work pants. This early innovation shines a spotlight on Levi Strauss as one of the early pioneers in sustainable apparel.
Hearing the story told through the eyes of a passionate and disruptive thinker such as Paul gives us every confidence that the legacy of our founder is still very much alive and well within the walls of LS&Co. as we all work together to write the next chapters of his “Profits through Principles” legacy.
