Corporate America, What Are You Doing to Empower Women Worldwide?

Female empowerment has been a popular issue as of late. From “leaning in” to “being bossy,” women are making extraordinary strides in the corporate world. But there’s still a lot of work to be done. And this work is the subject of LS&Co. EVP Anne Rohosy’s LinkedIn op-ed piece that posted today.

As Executive Vice President of Levi Strauss & Co., one of Anne Rohosy’s biggest and most rewarding jobs is to ensure and promote the wellbeing of women.

It’s an issue that’s extremely important to Anne, who grew up in a family of five sisters and one brother. In her house, gender lines were never drawn and she was encouraged to do and pursue whatever she wanted, whether that meant playing football or aiming to be a corporate executive.

Being surrounded by strong female role models was instrumental to Anne’s upbringing—and she’s making it her mission that women everywhere have similar supportive networks and are empowered to achieve great aspirations.

In her LinkedIn piece, Anne outlines the ways in which LS&Co. is helping to support women worldwide. From the HERProject, which seeks to educate women and empower female issues in factories, to the many other projects under the Improving Worker Wellbeing initiative, Anne is clearly excited and committed to supporting women in all of the communities where LS&Co. works. But she’s not done there—she’s calling on corporations everywhere to make it a priority to champion women the world over.
