At Levi Strauss & Co., we know that water is vital to our business, our people and our planet – and that preserving this precious resource is up to us.

So today, on World Water Day, we’re proud to announce that we’re more than halfway to making good on our promise to train 100 percent of our corporate employees to be water ambassadors by 2020.

In fact, 60 percent of our employees have received training in the Project Wet curriculum, empowering them to advocate for the importance of water in their own communities. That’s 2,324 employees in 13 countries, who then put that training to good use in classrooms around the world, reaching more than 11,000 students with the games-filled approach to learning about water.

In addition, our joint partnership with Scholastic and Project WET has delivered water education to 1.5 million elementary school children in the last year.

We also continue to innovate the way we make our clothes to be cleaner and greener – from using Better Cotton (grown with less water) to the Water<less technology (using less water to make our jeans). To learn more about how we build water sustainability into everything we do, read our water story.
