At Levi Strauss & Co., we’re committed to being clear about how AI fits into our hiring process and creating an experience that’s transparent, fair and rooted in trust. Integrity is part of who we are, and being open about how we work helps us build trust from the start.
Here’s a look at how we’re using AI in our recruiting process and what we expect from candidates in terms of AI use.
How We Use AI
AI supports how we work and helps us move efficiently and stay consistent, but it does not replace human judgment. All final hiring decisions are made by the hiring manager.
We may use AI to:
- Streamline interview scheduling and coordination
- Take notes and help summarize conversations so our hiring teams can stay present and focused on the conversation
- Power our chatbot, Andy, so candidates can find the roles that are most relevant to them, ask questions and apply more easily
- Help us identify new talent pools so we can broaden our candidate pipeline
- Help our team organize and prioritize applications to support thoughtful evaluation by hiring managers

Using AI as a Candidate
Our interview process is designed to get to know the real you: how you think, how you collaborate and how your experiences shape your approach. AI can be a useful tool, but it shouldn’t replace your voice and perspective.
Candidates can use AI to:
- Prepare for interviews: You’re welcome to use AI tools and other resources to do research and get ready for your interview.
- Create application materials: AI can be used to help structure or refine your resume or cover letter. Please ensure everything you submit accurately reflects your skills, experience and accomplishments.
- Help with role-specific assessments: You may use AI for research, brainstorming or organizing your thoughts. However, the work you submit should reflect your own thinking, analysis and perspective — AI should not be used to generate or complete your response unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Where AI should not be used:
- Live interviews: These conversations are designed to understand your communication style, thinking and experience. Do not use AI to generate or assist with responses in real time unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Recording or transcribing interviews: You may not use AI tools to record, transcribe or capture interviews unless explicitly approved in advance by the hiring team.

Beware of Hiring Scams
Hiring scams are a common tactic where scammers pose as recruiters for Levi Strauss & Co. to try to extract “recruitment fees” or sensitive personal information.
The LS&Co. talent acquisition team members and related agents thoroughly vet candidates through a screening and interview process that will always include a verbal conversation with a recruiter. At no time will we ever ask you to provide personal financial or banking information.
All recruiting email correspondence from actual LS&Co. recruiters will come from individuals with a @levi.com email address. Any correspondence coming from an individual associated with LS&Co. using an email address other than one ending in @levi.com should be considered suspicious.
